Candy Matterson

Recent work has been an investigation of how interaction and touch might be sponsored between wearer and viewer, object and viewer. I made jewellery and sculptural pieces to explore this idea. The aim is to encourage play, fiddling, twiddling and stroking with the pieces by wearer or viewer or both. This became a little mechanical and kinetic with some of the pieces. Spheres move easily, often make sound as they move, can be a flexible joint and so have figured in many of these pieces.
